I have always wore cross-trainers feeling that would be a good everyday whatever sneaker. With a treadmill due in any day now, I was wondering if I should change the type of sneaker I use. I am not sure if I will stick with brisk/fitness walking or move it up a notch to a jog. Should I get a running type sneaker either way?

Thanks

If you are going to be putting in serious miles walking (speed walking) or running... I would suggest that you go to a store that specializes in running and get fitted for a pair of proper shoes.

Take your old shoes with you so they can see the wear pattern on them.

Good luck! Have fun on the treadmill.

i'd second that. i finally did just that and i love my new shoes and find they give me zero problem, which hasn't always been the case for me. i do a little of both though lately have been running more than usual. and part of me thinks that could be due to having no issues with my shoes.

Thank you. I thought so. There is a good store called Runner's Edge. I will try looking there over the weekend and as you suggested, I will bring my sneakers. I would not have thought of that.
