My friend Kevin finally got around to putting the video from this years footage together.
He's the one that did my 2006 kick butt video. He came out to video this years race, and well, it didn't have a happy ending as we all know.

But I asked him to make a video anyway, and he finally got around to it.
It's bittersweet. But I think something I needed to see as I round the corner for the big build for IMAZ 08. Esp. since the bike shop has taken over my life as of late.
It also reminds me that I need to watch my food intake. I don't want to look like that this year. OY!
Anyway, here it is.. the good, the bad, the ugly, and the fat! UGH!
And notice the wind on the bike. You can actually tell how windy it is by the racers numbers flying around..

Any thoughts I might have had of doing a Tri .... just seeing the open water swim with all those bodies, it's like swimming in a washing machine on spin cycle. Then the heat, the wind .... you go ahead.

Denise, you are an Ironman!

Q: what do they do if you miss the cut off at any point? Do they stop you right there or if close can you continue and do as much as you can?

Yep, they stop you and pull you from the course. They take your chip and everything.
I dnf'd on my own, so I had to walk past the finish line to hand mine over.
Not a fun time..

Of the number registered how many finish?

My experience on AIDS Lifecycle as both rider and crew is that most don't finish every mile. When you've been there, done that, got the t-shirt dang it's hard to come up short. :o

And you've done the Ironman :D Multiple times. And will again in '08

Great video RM! I know it didn't turn out like you'd hoped, but every day is it's own battle, and you fought hard against tough conditions. I thought the video really showed your spirit.
Plus- you're gonna get payback in 4 months, and I'm going to give it back to the course for you in Nov. ;)

Denise,
Still a great video! I know you can do it! Keep your spirits up; everyone has a tough day sometimes; bouncing back is the best part.

Best holiday wishes,
Laura
