DH and I do Christmas early so we can enjoy the time together before travelling to see family. Tonight he gave me my gift of two long sleeve jerseys, smart wool socks and some cycling knickers! :D One of the jerseys was bought because he decided I didn't have any jerseys to match the socks and he knows how I annoyingly coordinate those. I think the warm gear was a ploy to get me on the road with him more in the chilly months. :D It is still nice to have one person in the family get it. Poor DH gets fishing supplies every year from his dad, even though he doesn't have the time to enjoy it and would rather ride.

Anyone else get something great under their tree?

haven't opened anything yet, have to wait for Christmas day. Hopefully, there should be a RoadID for me since this is the one thing I asked for this year. I ride my bike and my horse alone most of the time so I love the idea of having all that emergency info available for emergency responders just incase I can't tell them anything.

Well... my woohoo will come later

My partner has been looking for a TT helmet for me - but he wants one with the built in visor...

He told me last night just before we opened all the pressies... (we open on Christmas Eve, and its the end of Christmas Day here in Middle Earth)

So... not only will I get a TT helmet (maybe that will make the difference in my next TT in the Dump Block series - see my latest race report...)

... but I also get to go shopping with my honey...

Oh, my!!!!!

I'm trying to remember... I *think* I figured it out myself - and once you've got it 'down,' it's pretty easy. Make sure the label (the thing that says "byerly blenders" or whatever) faces the right direction... if you've got fenders, get out the dremel ... but can you make pies with that? :D

Our sweet young son bought gifts for us for the first year with his own money (he's a college freshmen). He bought me two cycling jerseys. Problem is both are M and while I could wear one (long sleeve), the other really gaps at the arms (sleeveless) and I really need it in S. The other problem is that even the long sleeve one is a very lightweight fabric, which seems odd, I usually wear heavy long sleeve ones but I do love the color. The dilemma, do I exchange them, or wear them and enjoy them knowing that he picked them out for me?

My DH always picks the coolest things! He had a necklace and bracelet custom made for me by our friend who makes jewelry from bike chains and sprockets and stuff. He also got me nice flat pedals so we can turn my old Torrent into a commuter/errand bike. Handy! He spoils me!

:D

Happy Holidays everyone!

I received 2 jerseys and a Garmin Forerunner 305 with the cadence kit and bike mount. Also, a 'Yoga for Bikers' dvd.

Trisk- Keep the long sleeve for the spring months and exchange the other for the same one in small if possible. ;)

Oak- I don't know if that stand is functional (I am sure it is), but it sure is pretty!!

My mom listened when I was hinting my bike shorts badly needed replacing and gloves as well. Yippee! My gloves are have small holes and no longer smell clean when they have been washed. :D And I got gift cards to get a new saddle, mine is in need of replacing.

DH made out well.... Base layer, new gloves, new watch for running from me. My parents got him Smart Wool socks and a Polar Computer for his bike w/ heart rate. And he will probably be picking up some new shoes with gift cards to the LBS.

My nieces (they're 4.5 and 2.5) were excited about their gifts which is the best part. Seeing their little faces light up and now they are in a cute squeeling-with-delight phase.

I got a gift certificate to ..... TE!!

So now I can order some tights, then I won't have as many excuses for not riding in what passes for winter around here.

I didn't get any bike related presents (and sadly, all gift certificates are to non-bike places). However, I did outfit DH well - new front wheel for his Bike Friday (he has a generator hub, and wanted a go fast wheel), a rain suit for his daily bike commute starting 1/7 and a new water bottle cage.

My brother got me a nice Camelbak. Unfortunately, I already have one. So I'll exchange it for something. But I appreciated the attempt to get me something bike-related.

Yes, I got some woohoo for cyclists (thank you Terry for your 1/2 off sale) and my newfound interest in snowshoeing (I am trying to embrace winter after 25 years in Utah :o ). Two jerseys (one was a "pink lemonade" jersey (http://www.twinsix.com/gear/gear_t607j009fc.htm)in support of FatCyclist's (http://www.fatcyclist.com) wife's cancer battle), knee warmers, shorts, gaiters, and some pants I can wear snowshoeing or xc skiing. I find it, buy it and DH wraps it and gives it to me

Hey SouthernBelle,

You two look great in your FC jerseys.

Question: What is the spray stuff you and your friend have clipped to your handlebars? Is it pepper spray? If so, did it come with its bracket or did you two invent one? I have a can of pepper spray I need to hook to my bike somehow.

That's a can of Halt! The little clip is a Halt Holder. You can get Halt! at most any LBS. But the only place I know of that you can get the clip is at Nashbar.

Lifesgreat and SouthernBelle, I'm so jealous of your Pink Lemondade FC jerseys. I can't wait until the new ones come out. Although, I did get my very first jersey ever for Christmas this year and it's from Twin Six like the FC jerseys. It's the QOTM jersey. Love it.

I also got some more woohoo cyclist stuff. Some MEC shorts with a REAL chamois (I now understand how important they are). Some Defeet socks. And two Spinervals dvds: the Autumn VR ride in Baltimore County Maryland (b/c I used to live in MD and miss it) and the Time Saver. I did Time Saver Christmas afternoon and loved it. Today is the first time I've felt a tiny bit of soreness after a ride so it's helping me get muscles I'm not getting on my own.

Happy Holidays! :D

Well, my gifts were for Hanukkah but I got some fun cycling toys, too. My hubby got me carbon fiber bottle holders. (Not something I would have bought, but he felt it was a must with my fancy carbon fiber bike.) And then for my birthday on the 15th, I got a new trainer. Very cool.

Hubby was pretty generous when he gave me the Terry snow leopard jersey and beanie, Terry windproof tight, fun socks from TE, PI knickers, PI Symphony LS jersey, and PI Woolie Mammoth jersey. :)
