winter gloves

Does anyone have any suggestions, good or bad experiences concerning winter cycling gloves.
I am looking for a warm, waterproof and somewhat feminine glove.

I believe that's like asking for something that is strong, light and cheap. You can have any 2 but not all 3.

I just bought some PI AmFibs gloves that are very warm. Don't know about waterproof because I'd only use them on the road and I don't ride in the rain. Feminine they are not. I think the lobster claw version is supposed to be warmer.

I got a pair of Avenir full finger gloves. Comfy, I have very small hands so I like the fit, good grip, reflective piping, look way cool...gotta admit my hands are NOT warm, rode in the 40-high 50's, I froze. Don't get out in the cold much but I'm looking for something else, :rolleyes:

I swear by my PI winter gloves. They have leather palms and working fingers, and ooo the downy lining. I got them initially when I was on a snow crew and they served well on 12 hr snowblow duty. My only gripe is they cost 45 bucks, though that is more than worth the 3 yrs and counting of nice hands.:)

I have the giordana spider gloves. I really consider them liners. I wear them under my regular riding gloves. They add a little warmth. Are you looking to ride in the freezing cold, or just need a little something extra? They are very cute (I think).

When it's really cold out I wear Pearl Izumi AmFIB Lobster gloves. They are definitely not feminine, but they are warm - and for me, warmth wins!

i also bought the PI amfib lobsters.. cuz my fingers seem to be the first thing to get cold! i always feel like i have to say "live long and prosper" when i wear them! :D :rolleyes:

I've been looking at Pearl Izumi's AmFib lobsters and after reading the pros about it I guess I'll go for those since warmth is the #1 issue for my morning rides here in Northern VA.

I wear the Avenir full-finger gloves down to about 28-27 then switch the the PI Lobster Claws. I've had great success with both. The coldest I've worn the Lobsters in was 12 with a wind chill of 6. Another forum I belong to has those crazy ppl that ride in subzero temps and they keep recommending the Specialized Sub-Zero Gloves. Not a clue what they cost but these guys have worn those with temps down to -Ungodly and swear by them.
