Is anyone else a member and having problems with their new site?
I can get to the log in page, but I can't go any farther than that. I'm in the system because I clicked on "forgot password" and they sent me a temp one, but I still can't log in.
I think I'm in an eternal loop trying to log in.
Is it user error or is anyone else having this problem?

Not to ask the "is it plugged in" question, but do you have cookies enabled for the site? The site might be misbehaving, but your description does fit a missing cookie description.

I had some pretty severe anxiety as I logged EVERYTHING (cycling, skiing, running, trail running, yoga, etc etc) in Cool Running and most of it was lost in the transition (the only things that were carried over were things with standard names like "running", which I had very little of since most of my running data were under "trail running"). And I can't log "trail running" into Active. Not happy. Anyhoo, messages to the help desk at Active went unanswered and based on the forums over there, all hell has broken loose. I was sure my data were gone forever (I naively believed the Active folks when they said that the transition would be seamless; big "duh" on my part).
Fortunately, I found the following on the forums there and was able to retrieve my data into Excel. Needless to say, I will NOT be using Active. They botched it big time.
If you need to get your old Cool Running log, here's how you do it:
I found a workaround if you don't have a cookie on your machine that remembered your login information. I'm not sure how long they will work for - I assume Active will shut these backdoors pretty quickly to lock you into their site.
I just exported 5 years worth of data - glad it is still there. I had set coolrunning to remember my login information, so I did not need to specify my password and simply got my data by only specifying my username. However, once I cleared my cookies and tried to login using the approach mentioned I could no longer log in.
But, I found another workaround, it is a two step process that should work for any one who remembers their username and password.
In the URLs below, substitute USERNAME by your user name, and PASSWORD by the password you used on coolrunning.
First you have to go through the login process:
http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/register/start_prefs.cgi?UserName=USERNAME&Password=PASSWORD&goAction=login
After the log in you will be redirected to the coolrunning home page, but now your login information has been remembered, and you can get to your old training log by going to:
http://www.coolrunning.com/cgi-bin/log/display.cgi?u=USERNAME
Then go to Tools and use the Download Your Running Log option to save your data (after saving this file, you can open it with excel).
I guess a lot of folks are migrating over to RunningAhead (http://www.runningahead.com/). They even have a greeting for Cool Running refugees. I might just go back to Excel since I log so many different kinds of activities.

Thanks Yellow. I finially got into the system. Not sure if I like it and I think a lot of my stuff didn't transfer over either.
Is there anything else online that is comparable to the original cool running?

Not that I know of. I'm pretty bummed; I liked the functionality of the CR log.
Active finally sent out a blanket email to CR subscribers but I'm still not seeing that Active will be as functional as CR. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I am going to have to use Brain Power to build an Access database. It's been a while since I've used Access, and I know it's going to HURT MY BRAIN!!
