Does anyone use Rolf Prima wheels?
I just ordered a set of Echelon wheel set (cause it was on closeout sale direct from Rolf Prima)
I read that the hubs failed catastrophically. this was back when they were Rolf and not Rolf Prima.
Does any one heard or seen such thing after they became Rolf Prima? Yes I know I'm doing things backward as usual.
thank you,

I don't know about Rolf Prima but I have had my Rolf Elan through 4 AIDS rides and all the associated training. Other than being trued they have not needed any work. :) I'm not ::cough cough::: lightweight and they are great wheels.

I have Rolf Prima SL's on my Specialized Ruby(an upgrade when I bought it on my dealer's recommendation when I wanted snazzier wheels) I am (cough, cough) very light and have crashed them once too. I think because my wheels have so few spokes, they are pretty hard to true after a crash. My rear wheel is totally rideable, but is technically not perfectly trued anymore. I have a problem with high speed shimmy on descents. This may be in part due to my weight(103 lbs), but when I switched out my front wheel to a Campagnolo Neutron I have, the tendency to develop shimmy seemed much less.I think I'll use the Rolfs for racing or flat rides now.I do lots of hills, so I need to avoid the shimmy!I haven't heard anything about hub failure-the dealer who sold me my Rolfs rides them herself(alot) and she is a medium weight looking person. Hope this info helps! Tokie

Rolf Prima uses US made hubs, different hubs and different hub maker than what was on the older Rolf (Trek) wheels. I've been on their Aspins now for over a year and they are great.
