I though I was going to get a metric in today,
Our club had a toy drive , so we rode down to the Ontario(California) Police, and give away our toys, I then rode back up and did some more mile before pulling for a hair appointment.
Wound with only 50, not bad considering it was an icky gray day

I got in a strong 20-mile ride today, on one of my favorite country roads. (Quiet, a few farms, Blue Ridge mountains in background....) It was sunny and about 60 degrees when I started; cloudy and low 40s by the time I was done. I was glad I'd brought one of my heavier jackets along. I tied it around my waist for the first 15 miles, but was grateful to put it on for the last 5 chilly miles, all of which are gently downhill........
I just installed a cadence monitor a couple of weeks ago, to learn to spin at a higher pace, so I was focused on cadence today. Takes some getting used to! But I managed to stay between 75 and 85 for about 3/4's of the ride. .......
Overall, a very satisfying ride today! :)

DH and I managed to do a 30 mile/3 hour ride today on a cloudy damp cold day, temps in the 30's. Had to bundle up quite a bit...a 3 pair socks and 3 pair gloves kind of day.
Wow, a day of lots of "threes"!!

Rode for about 2 1/2 hrs on the bike trail. Clear and COLD. Snowy mountains in every direction, blue sky, sunshine.
Not too many wannabe-racer boys, mostly "Freds" (like me!) and serious speed demons. All in all a very well-behaved and no show-offs kind of crowd on the trail today. A few little landslides and marks from flooding from the storm we had.
Stopped at two bike shops, bought a pair of warm gloves.
Great day for a ride!
anything worth looking at left at Ti-Cycles?

Not really a whole lot at TiCycles. Some jackets, a few fender sets, maybe 6 new bikes and 4 or 5 used ones. One pretty CoMotion, but it wasn't my size. Not much left.
Recycled Cycles is having their winter sale right now: 20-30% off new bikes and 10% off used. They've got some great bikes in stock. I had to clutch my Surly CC to my bosom to keep myself from being seduced by the Salsa Casaroll and the Rivendell Bleriot and the Surly LHT and the Konas....
Plus clothes and other stuff are on sale. I got a nice warm pair of gloves, which made my ride home MUCH nicer!

15 degrees and snowing so no ride for me today. I'm kicking myself for not running earlier when it was a balmy 25, heh heh.

It is yet another cold and rainy day in Kentucky :( I logged 22.5 miles on my trainer in the comfort of my living room. Thank goodness for the music video countdown on VH1.
Looks like tomorrow will be about the same. I so badly want to take my new bike out for a long ride someday the weather gods will give me a warm, dry weekend and hopefully before April!

I was SO EXCITED not to be racing today! Did some chores around the house, including decorating the Christmas tree, and then went for a "pupose-less" ride...no training, no more racing, just riding for the joy of it! DH and I had a blast, and ended up with 25.5 miles on the road, and snow-covered rail trail... Looking forward to more of these kind of rides now that the training is done (until next month...).

Threatened rain all day today. We finally got in a quick ride around the neighborhood. It was a HOT 80 degrees! Just doesn't feel right for December.

30 miles of beautiful country roads here in GA. Temp was in the lower 70s and everything was perfect. Perfect that is, except for the fact that I ate pasta with spicy sausage before I rode and it revisited me at one - two points during the ride. UGH! Now I know how my daughter feels when she says she threw up in her mouth in the pool.

Went on a 25 mile club ride from Conway to Rexville and La Conner. A beautiful zig zaggy ride through the countryside at 26 degrees! We were all laughing about how far below our "ride thresholds" this was. I'd never ridden when it was below 40 degrees, and I still consider that to be a little too cold. It's funny what a difference good company makes though; when I ride alone in the cold my mind runs in a loop about how cold it is, how miserable I am, and how eternal this makes the ride seem. Riding with a group, we're still all complaining about how cold and miserable it is, but it becomes a source of amusement somehow. Oh, and stopping at a nice brew pub in La Conner for a meal in front of the fire also makes a nice difference. Back to Spinervals today. Ho hum...

Love the LaConner brew pub! Trek and I had lunch there a couple weeks ago, and then went over to the museum next door.

Yes, it is a VERY nice little place. I've lived in the NW 20 years and I'd never been to LaConner. 'tis a good excuse to go back soon!
