:) I just met DuckOnWheels :)

She was in Oslo for a meeting, and we managed to meet up at a pub/cafe-place close to where I work and had a coffee. And talked about growing up with a bike, riding metric centuries (or rather - not riding metric centuries), music on a bike, and the sorry lack of rides-that-aren't-races in Norway. And checked out the weird ghost-themed restrooms, and I even got to show her my trusty old Trek winter workhorse :D

Very nice to meet a fellow TE'er! And a bright, articulate, sympathetic woman she is - with a terrific new hairdo ;)

That's cool! It's so much fun to meet people IRL from TE. They're always way cooler in person.

Lph, you have my curiousity piqued about her hairdo, though. Please do your best to describe.

Yes...please! I'm shopping for a new one for myself, so I'm all about new 'do descriptions! :)

we-ell - I may get in trouble for saying this - but in the picture I saw on her work web page she had a kind of ... standard shoulder-length bob.

And now she has a sophisticated shortish layered 'do which looks very good on her.

Can't describe it any better, I just used up my entire hairdo vocabulary. :D

She's way cool in person! :) Any of you in Nor Cal, we're planning a slow easy mixte-freewheel ride in Sonoma on the 15th. Even if everyone's busy shopping we plan to do this anyway.

Hi lph!
Sorry I didn't report or even respond before now. Didn't have all that much on-line time while traveling.
Way cool bike you have for a commutermobile! But of course, I'm partial to red Treks so my opinion may be biased. ;)
And thanks for showing me where to find those ghost-themed loos. I might never have discovered that the bookcase was the hidden door
Did you make it to swimming after? I was really impressed with your speed on that commute route! If it were me cycling on ice and snow, I'd be paddling along like an old-fashioned velociped, feet on the ground  Oh well. Spring will come again. Had a nice couple'a miles on Trek420's guest bike Saturday. So sweet to feel a breeze through the helmet :D, specially on a (for me) mild California day (what was it, Trek? 50-something?) Meanwhile, back in Trondheim again, I'm hoping for more snow so maybe I can give my skis a try again. We have a couple inches of old hard-glazed stuff. Ok to look at from inside, but not what I feel comfortable skiing on. Should be more soon, tho'.

No sweat, Duck, I knew you were travelling. Hope you had a good trip. I made it swimming (I think, I can't completely remember what I did that evening - it all faded in the glory of meeting you, of course :p ).

Commuting now is a bit of a bummer. -11 deg C, I'm too lazy to figure what that is in Fahrenheit, but it's cold enough that my feet are cold even through winter boots, my wool Buff just freezes to a stiff mask in front of my face, and my bike just isn't cooperating at all. But - the trees sure are pretty! All white and sparkly! Soon ski time for us all, I think :)

I do, inside, sometimes. And that's what Munch meant it to portray, I gather -- an inner "angst".
But outwardly, I'm serene and ... normal (whatever that is).
