p.s.

It is important that novice riders begin their training early! Please come to our first training ride and continue the entire training schedule to build up your endurance and strength! Our first training ride starts at 20 miles. Each Saturday you'll add on five miles, building up to a full 65 miles (a metric century). We'll provide training rides on seven weekends, leaving the remaining weekends for you to train at your convenience. We've developed an email list (http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/pedlpushers/) as a way to communicate with other women cyclists, who may be interested in training with you on the alternate weeks.

All of our training rides will have one or more experienced ride leaders. The average pace will generally be between 12 and 15 mph and will vary with the terrain (i.e., flat vs. hilly). The pace may increase as the training series progresses. Route maps will be provided to everyone in attendance. It is CRITICAL that novice riders begin their training early so they are able to keep up with the group. Please be aware that the ride leaders must be able to stay with the entire group and will not be able to stay behind with riders who have not prepared for the ride. This means starting your training with a lower mileage and consistently working your way up to a higher mileage and pace. See the training schedule (http://lunachix.net/training.htm) for a typical progression.

Velo Girls will also be hosting a training ride series this season. All is tentative right now, but it looks like we'll have a 10-week series of outdoor rides (Saturdays) along with Tuesday/Thursday indoor training sessions. More info at http://www.velogirls.com once we've finalized the schedule.

yeah.....it would be great if you could come. this is the first-ever women's cycling summit and I know there are those in power (USAC) who would like to see it fail. I hope we see enough participation.

I will try. Busy week for me, unfortunately. But I could use the 15 credits...
