As soon as the weather turned chilly I started getting cramps in my right calf. I've only had calf cramps very rarely in the past.
I wondered if there was a connection with my SmartWool socks, so I started folding them down around my ankles. Since then, my calf still feels tight, but I haven't had a cramp (touch wood).
I don't measure my calves, but it's definitely possible that they're larger than they've been since the last time I wore wooly socks 24/7 (long explanations that aren't important here  ).
Is there a connection? If so, in the meantime, until we can get our butts to our winter home ('nother long story), is there something I can do about it besides wearing summer-weight socks and letting my toes turn blue? And why the heck are those socks so tight in the calves, anyway?
