If you hang out at Bike Forums, you may see this listing over there. This is one of my husband's bikes and he's selling it. I figured I'd list it here, because at 53cm, it might appeal to women, too. This bike offers a very smooth but highly responsive ride.

Asking price: $2000

It weighs 17 pounds with pedals, cages, seat bag and pump. The frame was designed by Eddy Merckx but built by Light Speed. The original stickers were worn and peeling, so the black ones you see are a replacement. The head badge and 'made by lightspeed' stickers were in good shape, so they are still original.

Wheels - American Classic Sprint 350. Also included is a set of training wheels - Campagnolo Ventos. With tires.
Cassette - Chorus 13/29 on Sprint 350's. Record 13/26 on Ventos.
Crankset - FSA Carbon Team Pro. 172.5 arms. Triple 52/42/28.
Look HSC carbon fork with carbon steerer.
Chris King headset.
Easton EC90 Equipe Carbon handlebars.
Shifters - Campagnolo Record carbon shifters.
Pedals - Campagnolo Centaur Profit Plus
Read Derailleur - Campagnolo Chorus - 10 speed - Long cage.
Front Derailleur - Campagnolo Record Ti.
Sefras carbon water bottle cages.
Ritchie WCS 100mm stem.
Cane Creek 200SL brakes.
Alien carbon seat post
Cateye CC-CD3000W double wireless computer.

The only imperfection is a scratch on the bottom bracket shell near the chain ring. Did that changing out the bottom bracket. The third picture shows it.

Why, oh why, did the HOA of my dead weight, can't sell it condo just have to assess $1800 for the 4th year in a row:mad:

It's probably the right size. And it's local. And it's ti. And it's a triple.

WAH!

(Did he decide the gearing on the cross bike was OK, or is he replacing this one?? Inquiring minds want to know:))

He's putting together another wheel for the cross bike with more low gears to compensate. So we think that'll be good enough for NC mountains. (I keep telling him he needs to work more on the 'engine' and less on the bike!)

My thought is that he is selling this one now because it is slightly too small for him, and he'll hope that a new bike with a lower geared triple is in his future if we move out west. ;)

For those who didn't notice, with the Chorus wheels, this bike has a 28-29 gear combo that'll get just about anyone up most mountains. Honestly, if my legs were just a bit longer, I'd keep this bike for me to use when my conditioning is off (like now)! :p

Edited to add:

I'm working from home today, so I just measured the bike.
Standover is 31"
TT from center of seat post to center of head tube is 21"

There's no way my legs are long enough, but I LOVE this bike!

Hey all -

DH just emailed me and asked me to lower the asking price to $1800. I can't edit the original post anymore, or I'd change it up there. And yes, I know I spelled Eddy wrong in the thread title. Oops.

MP, are you interested yet? Anyone else?

He's obviously negotiable. ;)

ARGH! I seriously would be VERY interested if I hadn't just bought a MOTORcycle.

Drat!

Lemme think about it some more.

Disclaimer: I'm completely tire-kicking, so please take as long to respond to this as you like :D ...

--Do you know if going from triple to double requires a new (left) shifter in Chorus? (Sometimes you do and sometimes you don't, really...).

--Top tube length???

I think it's about my size...

Top tube length measured with a tape measure (probably not very accurate) is 21" (center of seat tube to center of head tube).

The shifters on this bike are Record and yes, they will accomodate a double. We know this for sure because the bike was a double when DH bought it. He tried to switch it into a compact double, and it wouldn't work. Something about the frame geometry wouldn't allow the gearing to work just right (even the 'expert' at our LBS couldn't get it to work right), so he went with a triple which works beautifully.

It is a very nice bike. Totally the wrong size for me and I just built up a "lesser bike" lesser brand name of K2.

Did the local bike shop try to relocate the front deraillure when they went and installed a compact double? The height off the big chain ring to the deraillure is important. And too the angle of the front deraillure the chain ring. From the photo, the bike has a clamp on type deraillure so it should have been easy to relocate the height. The frame geometry should not have mattered that much (at least that's my thought)

Hi Smillingcat -

Yep, they did all kinds of adjustments on that front deraileur. I believe that they even tried a totally different one. My H was determined to make it work, so for months, it was a little tense around our house as one thing after another failed to solve the problem!

Once he gave up and went with the triple, peace returned! ;) Luckily, the bike worked as beautifully with the triple as it did with the double. Phew!

Bringing this back up to the top to let everyone know that this bike is still available. I believe that it will be posted on ebay before too long, so if anyone is interested, speak now or forever hold your peace!
