Do any TE members living in Colorado Springs engage in shooting sports as well?
I helped coordinate a project recently with the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
The Carl R. Welsh Hunter Education Shooting Range was named in honor of my uncle. He died in 1975.
I plan to drive to Colorado in late May next year to see the range and meet the men who did all the work.
Thanks -

Thats very cool, BA, it is so special to have significant and lasting things done for people that were special themselves...
I'm on the other side of the world and so won't be there any time soon (partner and I are both shooters/hunters).
Maybe you could take a couple of pix when you get there and post here for us? Is it an outdoor range or an indoor one?

It's an indoor range.
I have pictures but don't know how to put them into my message.
The building is a simple structure and has a very functional design for safety purposes, I'm sure.
I never got to know my uncle (because of my parents' divorce).
But, he lived a good life and made a difference as a conservation officer.
I wanted to honor him and help people remember him.

I'm not in Colo Springs, and not into shooting, but if you are bringing your bike (or planning to rent one) while you are in CO, give me a shout! My parents live north of the Springs and there are some lovely roads down there that I've been wanting to ride...
