I raced home from work to take my new bike out for a spin. Before departing I decided to lower the seat for my knees were talking to me last night and they were not happy. I'm a toe pointer but did notice this weekend when I was riding my new bike that the toe pointing was exceeding my normal pointing. While riding today, my knees felt much better and my toes were back to a normal point so I'm hoping I have the seat close to where it should be.

I left my home under a thick gray cloud cover and a bit of mist in the air. I had about 60 minutes of daylight left so the ride would be a short one. It was a fun, fast 14 mile ride and the more I ride this bike the more I fall in love with it. I'm amazed at how light it feels and how smooth it is. I'm simply in awe. The headwind coming home was tough but hey I how have 30 gears to chose from and chose I did. I feel like a kid in a candy shop - and I know the entire time I was riding in the wind and rain my spirits were flying and there was a huge smile upon my face. No more outdoor riding for this week - to much to do with the holidays and travel. It was a nice way to start my week.

Did a quick 14 miles after I got home. There is only one loop I can do with this daylight and it is getting old. I am trying to make myself sick of riding before I leave on vacation. :D

I finally got a bike ride in too. And it felt great! Life was getting in the way for a while and I was turning into a hunchbacked blob, spending hours on the computer working. So yesterday I decided to brave the dark and the wind and the cold and get some exercise in anyway. Cycled half way home from work, about 20 miles, and then caught the train the rest of the way. I bundled up enough to stay warm, and it never really started raining. Just the typical 100% humidity of English winters. And I was well lit up with two red lights in the back, a white one on the front of my bike and a blue and a green one on me and reflective strips on my arms and legs and a bright yellow rain jacket. Cars were actually giving me more space than I usually get when cycling in daylight so I must have been visible enough.

I got home latish, so just a quick very very gentle 10km after work just before dusk...

Before something than nothing though, right?
