I did not have to work today, so we actually went out around 2 PM.

Mount Diablo had some interesting clouds around it. I'll be glad when my knee is completely healed and I can do some real climbing again. I kept looking at the mountain, wishing I was heading up it.

We have this great country road that is closed to traffic. It is about 3 miles long and has some awesome rollers. We saw two coyotes out there, a loose cow that I hope doesn't wander out on to the main road, and crazy farmer dude delivering hay. He stayed on his side of the road this time though.

It was a nice easy ride - almost 19 miles and 740 feet of climbing.

some idiot scheduled a workshop in Wellington on Friday I have to attend  I suppose at least its a day out of the office and I'll get time and a half, and a day in lieu, but I'll still miss the chance to ride

I hope the dumbo who did that wasn't someone from your office.

I'm hitting Long Bays  with a friend. Timing it to fit in lunch in Sumner toward the end too. :D Hope the weather's alright - I can live with not-so-warm, but I'm not keen on the idea of ninety-odd (by the time I ride from home) kilometres in the rain. :(

My typical after work ride is a loop that is just under 16 miles. It takes me anywhere between 57 minutes and an hour and 2 minutes. I have a few shorter and longer variations of this loop. I get bored, but it's always beautiful.
