I am up in my office grading some of my student's lab reports. Kitty is with me in my office. Kitty is normally alllowed in the office, but we are havingthe carpets cleaned downstairs, so an exception has been made. This is the toad lickin' kitty....

Round one...kitty comes over and gives me two big paws on my leg....lots of purring....

Round two....kitty gets up on the chair with me....

Round three....kitty puts both paws, up to his kitty elbows on the desk.

Round four....kitty is on the desk, sitting on the pile that has already been graded. Lots of tail swishing. Squinty eyes....he is plotting....

Round five...kitty move his large self over on the not yet graded pile and hunkers down.

I say...that is gonna make it hard for me to grade those labs....

Round six...kitty looks at me and says...You talking to me? swish, swish...

Round seven....large kitty paws flicks out and starts to knock stuff off the desk...pencil sharpener..whack on the floor, red pen, whack on the floor....

Round eight...human throws in the towel....

Kitty 8
Human 0

labs...to be continued.....

given a chance, kitty will make itself 'useful'. It doesn't matter what 'useful' is, kitty will 'help'. Time and attention needs to be towards kitty...:p :p :p

Is that anything like the Kitty Rule (TM) :D
1. that it is much better to sit on unread sections of the daily paper than the read pile?

2. it is also important to point out interesting articles in the section of the paper the human is currently reading.

LOL! I know that war well. When my "oldest" cat Sophie was just a kitten, I was studying for the bar exam and we had a battle of wills over my pen. I liked to write with it; she liked to chew on it while I was writing with it.

She won that war (and most of the ones that have followed). I finally gave up and started studying at the library.

RRG--I will lend you, Fiona, the banshee of a golden retriever puppy. Kitty's antics will seem mild in comparison! LOL.

Kitty Rule 3: It is much better to sit on the computer keyboard when the human is using it rather than when the human is otherwise occupied.

Kitty Rule 4: The nice warm pile of laundry just out of the drier is for kitty's use, and is not to be folded.

I feel your pain. I sometimes have at least five of my cats helping me grade papers. Needless to say I don't get many papers graded but I do have a huge smile on my face.

Kitty Rule 5: The bed is not to be made until kitty decides.

:D :D :D

Great visual!

Re: the labs, in my house they have important jobs like holding down the sofa, keeping all things at tail wagging height dusted, and, of course, cleaning the floor (especially the kitty kibble).

They all have it so rough, don't they?

Our dearly beloved and much missed Raptus ("manic burst of energy", in Norwegian), staking her claim to the newspaper as I go for more coffee.

"Oh, were you READING this???"

Yeah, Yellow, that cartoon is the BEST. I've been sending and posting it far and wide. It is the TRUTH. All cat owners know this.

Our cat Nina, as part of this morning thing, likes to lick our noses, purring optimistically. If you try to hide your nose under the pillow or blanket, she will reach in and pull it out. That wakes you up FAST. She is also a face patter.

I got it over the weekend and almost fell out of my chair the first time I saw it. I sent it on its way to a few friends, some had already seen it. Bad kitty-evil kitty LOL. Jenn
