Wow an organic garden. How fun for you! :D Guess I have no excuses left for why we never had a garden in Phoenix . . . :rolleyes:

Something I noticed in the Farmer's Market segment, is that they accept food stamps. I think that is great - it is just as important for those on food stamps to have access to superior nutrition as it is for those who can afford to pay cash.

Yeah, this Farmers Market is great. Its held in one of the barrios, one of the poorer places in town. The Community Food Bank is coordinating it. So unlike a lot of the fm around here, they do not have jewelry and other non-food items. As matter of fact they try to attract as many as the local growers as possible and so have very little prepared food. Its a great little market, this past summer they even took WIC coupons.

This time of year is the best for growing a garden. Particularly greens...most of them can stand a bit of cold and the cooler ground temps. The hardest is the summer...I could not imagine trying to grow in the summer in Phoenix. You all are only about 10 hotter but its suprising what a difference it makes.
