And yes, I have read the best and worst saddle threads over in the gear section. Ahem.

I've been riding on one of the original Terry saddles, and I have always found it quite comfy. (My bike was in storage for most of last fifteen years, so the saddle is only now starting to break down.) When I rented a bike in July for the metric century, the bike had what I think was a well-used Terry Butterfly (it had a little butterfly logo on the back). I found it to be comfortable for the three 50-60 mile rides I did on that bike.

I need to buy a new saddle soon, and I will not be able to try it out and return it, given where I live (Chile). The cost of shipping would probably be more than a new saddle. Is it fairly safe to assume that a new Terry Butterfly would work? Have they changed significantly in the last couple of years? The thought of getting on the miserable-saddle roller coaster is not a pleasant one....

Hola Chile!!
I have found the terry very comfortable, especially as it has broken in. I have done 80+ mile rides on it with no problems whatsoever.
I think that you'd be safe getting one (esp since you had one before) and letting it break in well.

Another one that you may try (if you can) is the specialized women's saddle. I found it really hard until it broke in, and now I can even time trial in it (so that I'm more forward) without any problems whatsoever.

Buena Suerte!!
