I know that many of you have already passed this mark but I'm excited that I've reached 3000 miles for the year! :D It feels good knowing that I can travel that far under my own power (even if it did take me 10 months). I'm hoping to get 500 more in by the end of the year...but with the time change coming up and the ever decreasing amount of daylight I looks like my rides will be relegated to the weekends.

Keep on turnin' those cranks everyone!

Yay!!! You and I are at about the same place right now. :)
I just put new tires on to "thank" my bike for it's 3,000 miles this year. ;)

I bet you can't believe you actually rode all those miles, right? :D :D :p

Congratulations! That's terrific!

Hopefully I'll be able to put up numbers like that next year! :)

I saw today you hit 3,000 so I went to get my three miles to catch you! :D Now the race to 3,500 is on!

Amanda, I should have kept my mouth shut! ;) And to rub salt in the wound you had to get 8 miles ahead of me!! And I can't even ride tomorrow. :( Yes, the race is on.

Thanks everyone. Mr. Silver, what do you mean by "significant?"

Lisa, you seem to just get further and further ahead...you are really logging the miles. But, Silver just blows me away. I can't even imagine riding that many miles in a year.

I'll translate for my DH. ;) I think he means that it's a huge achievement....I'm important milestone worthy of celebrating! My 3,000 mark this year is the only one that I watched for on the odometer, that I celebrated and told people about. So....I completely agree with him.....Congratulations for your accomplishment!!!!!

I am very fortunate to have the opportunities to ride a lot. It's in part for the hard work that Mr. does to provide for me so that I do not have to work full time (and I appreciate him for that...but don't tell him that often enough) I do have some unusual restraints on my time because of Mr.'s working out of town (can't take any job that requires work during the weekend and my "on-call" status with the in-laws and kids). These things require that I get most of my miles during the week while the kids are at school (our kids are teens and do not require constant attention) and worked around the needs of the in-laws. sometimes they don't require anything and I get the opportunity to ride a lot and I try to take advantage of those times.

You gals are such great motivation for me…I was going to skip my group ride tonight, but I realized I’m just 4 miles short of 3000. I didn’t think I would be able to make 2500 this year, and I can’t believe I’m at 3000! 3,500 is not looking so bad now either.

Keep riding - because it keeps me riding! :)

I was actually surprised to log on and see you had leaped over me on Bike Journal. Last week it was way to windy to ride after work and next week it will be too dark. :( You beat me to 2,000 and 3,000 so you are winning the milestone race. Hooray for mild winters- 3,500 is still in sight!

Oh and I forgot last night- CONGRATULATIONS!! :D :D

Congratulations!!!! I am sure many of us can relate to how you feel reaching your goal. I reached mine of 2000 miles and will up the anti next year. I am also happy to say, that after pushing and stamping my feet, my dh will make some changes to put some balance in his life and will be joining me. He just brought home a 2008 Roubaix Pro :) (an upgrade from his Allez comp that I just felt was not as comfortable riding as his tired body needed).

Hehe... I forgot to log last Sunday's 53 miler and then did 61 miles today! We are planning 60-70 tomorrow and equal numbers next weekend. Have no fear, we will be gone Thanksgiving Day until December 2 with no bikes. I have to put up some distance. :D
