I have the prettiest cork grips for my new Albatross bar...but I can not seem to make them stick...they're just a little bigger than the bar..grrr

Rivendell suggested the very adhesive I used (3m 77).. I might have to try Gorilla Glue which expands.... or

Meantime, I have these leather grips that I have yanked and twisted and stuck sharp things into, sprayed with alcohol about 5 times on off on off on off and they still long to serve...

i'm about ready to let them....

Broke out the Gorilla Glue (per some research here) and it might just do the trick...scary !!

lalalalala here I am just talking to myself......

annnnnnyway. If you need to put cork grips on and want them to stay in...Gorrila Glue. I hope I really like these ALbatross bars...because those babies are not coming off without a chisel!!!

I'm here reading because I'm thinking of putting cork grips on my new mixte...unless I put a black saddle, then I have no idea what I'll use.

Do you like the Albatross bars so far?

Sorry, wasn't ignoring you. I don't get off work until about 6 p.m.

Glad you figured it out. Save the leather grips. If you don't, you'll find a project for which they will be perfect.

I was pretty much kidding BIAK....talking to myself is a trait most of my friends endearing..:D BTW...I'm taking my bike in to River City (where I got it) for its 30days check up...I'll feel better if someone tells me I did an OK job with the cables...

Sandra...You can get BLACK cork grips...those would look mighty nice with a black saddle. Ummm. Rivendell? Velo Orange? google it.
I do like the A bar...it's lovely and well designed. There is a whole page devoted to singing it's praises---if like me, you obsess over such things--

(you'll like the pictures too.)

I'm KINDA missing my old Raleigh, which just felt so differnet from all the bikes I've ridden since...Light, fast,...and it had dropped bars. I liked riding on them.
BUT...given the caution I wish to excercise with my most private and sensitive parts....sitting up straight for now is something I will happily get used to.

Maybe it's that lugged steel you all talk about so much that I miss and I would have had no idea...thought I was just being sentimental...:D

If I ever put together an xtracycle, that's what I want for handlebars. I've always wanted to try that style.
