What the........!!!!!

No thread for the entire week. What happened? Is everyone OK or have you all keeled over from end of season chronic fatigue?

Well, I needed to find someplace to post this. Since there was not run thread for the week....

I'm getting ready to go out for a run. This will be my first run (apart from a couple of slow fun runs to get DH going) that can count as training. And guess what.... I'm nervous. I'm nervous about a silly training run. More nervous than I ever am before a race. Odd, isn't it. Well, I'm pushing the butterflies in my stomach down and heading out the door.

Happy trails everyone. And Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadian gals out there!!

I've been nervous on bike rides (training) so I can relate.

This morning I ran 2 1/2 miles. This past week I did 11 miles! My longest day was 5 miles and my shortest was just a quick mile when I had time. I reached a milestone (as it were) in my running; I can go 2 1/2 - 3 miles without walking! Once I reach that point, I go to the run 4 minutes walk 1 routine while I build endurance.

Have a great run :D The weather is kind of nice for running even though it's cold.

It was perfect running weather and I managed to log about 5.5 miles. I guess I didn't forget how to run after all. Now I have to find something to eat and get ready for HopsFest!!.

Well I walked 2km with the school running club on Tuesday and again on Thursday. Still can't run, still have lumpy knots of muscle in my calf.

Well, Shiraz did the City of Trees half mary in Boise today...good thing it wasn't yesterday since it snowed/rained! Hopefully she'll post and let us know how it was. Looks like the weather was just about perfect.

I did a short run with the Sunday Ladies down low this morning (about 5000' elev) and then my buddy called a little later and wanted to go for a long run/hike up high in the snow. It was more of a run, and it was quite fabulous. Fall colors--WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!--and about 6" of snow at the ridge where we turned around (about 9000' elev). White, gray, brown, red, orange, yellow, black, purple, green, more yellow, more red, more orange, and a blue, blue sky. It was like being in a box of crayons. We got first tracks up high...most hikers didn't make it that far. Not too terribly cold, either, probably in the upper 30s.

:D :D :D :D

A day late... It was a gorgeous day yesterday. I went out and did an hour-and-a-half trail run. The aspens are changing colors. The trail was nicely packed since it snowed the other day. It was beautiful!

Thanks Yellow for thinking about me.:p :p You are the best! I had a very good half marathon run in Boise, Idaho on Sunday. The weather started out in the 40's somewhat cool but warmed to 60's by noon. I couldn't decide if I should wear shorts or pants but ended up wearing light tights and lighter tops. What a beautiful run! The trees are so pretty hence the name "City of Trees" .We run through the downtown historic houses and through warm springs. Plenty of aid stations and potty's, great volunteers and hot soup in side the hotel at the end. You start and finish right in front of the host hotel. I stayed at the Hotel 43 a block away. I love Boise!! The weather at home in AF and Pocatello had more snow Friday and Saturday so I was glad to be in Boise!!

My finish time was 2:05:11, I finished 8th out of 21 in my age group and 78 out of 218 overall age. Not good enough for a trophy but I was happy since I improved 6 minutes fromt the last time I ran the City of Tree's half.

Here is a new run October 27th in Boise called the Prisonbreak half, 10k, 5k
looks really fun. I think I will do the half.

Hope everyone had a great week end. I feel like I am trying to get the crud:o

Been busy but I did my trail race on Saturday, unfortunately I hadn't managed to shake off my horrible cold so it was hard work on the first flat mile never mind the big climb. I ran as much as I could (more than most people) but I just couldn't recover at all, my heart rate refused to come back down. I managed to make up a lot of time on the descent thankfully but it was basically hard work. I managed 1:36 for 15k and 1700ft of ascent which was well within my goal of under two hours. Spent most of Sunday in bed ill  and am resting up now until I shake this cold for good.

It was a beautiful day, a little on the warm side really and I took advantage of the walk breaks to look at the stunning views, I could see for miles. :D

I have another trail race on 3rd of November though this one winds its way along the shores of Ullswater so will be more undulating rather than long climbs and descents.

That Prison Break run looks like fun! It's too late to plan it for this year but I'm thinking I'd love to do it next year. And maybe I could even be up for a half by then :D
