With all the proud ravings 'bout pink bikes, I finally have my own photos to share. Introducing Priscilla (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sadiekatel/album?.dir=80d6&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos) . . .
The story: several months ago my hubby decided he wanted "modern" cantis on his old beloved touring bike, Rosebud. Well, he found out that Rosebud's spacing was a bit vintage and the cantis wouldn't fit. So, the solution? Ask Santa (me) for a new cross bike to fit the brakes. He picked out a Knobby X from Kelly Bike (nearby in Nevada City). He wanted it custom painted red with a custom stem so we made a 2nd drive to pick up the frame. Well, while we were there Chris made me a very generous offer on a Knobby X in my size, painted my choice of colors, plus hubby decides that he's going to use some linear pull brakes he already has so I can have the cantis. How could I refuse? So, I wrote out the check, went garage shopping (we tend to have a lot of extra parts), and sold a very boring town bike to make room. And, here she is! Ta-da!
PS -- Hubby is now a little jealous because all the local bike shop boys are drooling more over Priscilla than his own version (Erik the Red). I keep telling him he could have chosen pink also!
