Hey gang,
Hubby and I did the East bay bike path yesterday in Rhode Island and it is a great trail. We started in Providence and rode to the end and then had a nice lunch at a place with a deck overlooking the ocean and a pair of swans and then headed back, so 28 miles round trip. It was about 50 degrees and not many walkers or bikers yesterday. I hear it can be quite packed on the weekends. They have a little bike video cam at the website but you don't really get to see all the ocean views. Eventually this path will hook up with the Blackstone River bike path and we'll be able to ride from Worcester to Providence. www.Eastbaybikepath.com and Blackstoneriverbikeway.com
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

That's by far one of my most favorite rides!! The bonus is I live one block from where the Blackstone Valley bike path is proposed to start. I am so looking forward to this!!!

I live 15 minutes from the East Bay Bike path. Sometimes I ride over there during the week, starting in Warren (at Del's Lemonade), and head down to Bristol. Bristol is a pretty town to explore by bike.

It might be fun for forum members to get together for a fun ride on the path next spring...anyone interested?

I'd be up for meeting and riding in the Spring. I didn't realize so many of you were so close. I'm about 40 minutes up 146 from Providence. Karen, are you near the section of the Blackstone River Bikeway that is done? I've ridden the 6 mile section completed in Rhode Island. I can't wait till the bridge is done. I live near Millbury which only has one very expensive mile done and another mile in the works.

I live in Quinsigamond Village. When they proposed that path about 10 years ago my husband and I were jumping up and down. Hard to believe that we are almost there...I sure would be up for a forum spring time ride. Now that you got me excited maybe I'll take my son down on Saturday...providing we can get
hubby out of bed:D

Once the holidays are over, let's start planning something! It'll be a great way to get through the miserable winter months!

Sounds good to me since the weather is crappy and we haven't even started the snow part yet. By the end of February I feel like I'll go out of my mind and its still two months till it gets warm enough for me to ride.

Here is a trail I may get involved with. It drives me crazy to see this beautiful line just sit there unused except for once a year when the guy who owns it dresses up and takes his train down the line just to prove it still runs. Arrrg. Check it out.
Grafton, Upton rail trail. Can't seem to link to it.
