View Full Version : had it, lost it, DARN IT!!
Sorry to bring this up again....but I'm consumed, and I'm in love with my Brooks. Don't want to give up on it!
I started tweaking my B67 to get the pressure off my hands--and I lost the near perfect placement under me...so on my ride yesterday, I was squirming around trying to find it and feeling that burning...
I can't seem to get it back!!!
I did order new handlbars (albatross) because I feel like if I could sit up straighter, I'd find it again; if I ride on my fingertips I get that whiff of a divine relationship.
I had put electrical tape to mark the rails, but it got all scrummed up...how do you mark your place?
SHould I go back to zero? (level nose, centered on the rails)

People still use eyeliner??  ;) ;)
Elk, are you saying that you already changed your bars, or you haven't put them on yet?
eyeliner? the pencil kind? or the liquid kind? my rails are black though....
Lisa, I ordered it from Rivendell Thursday...I hope they're speedy...so no not yet...Maybe that will solve the issue?

Well if you are soon going to change your bars anyway, then just do whatever you want with saddle positions until then. If you are doing a radical handlebar & body position change then you'll be needing to tweak your saddle position anyway once the change is made.
What kind of shifters will you have with the Albatross bars? My DH has Albs on his hybrid and really likes them for regular around town riding.
Don't panic- if you are not in terrible pain right now on your Brooks, you will likely be able to find the sweet spot for it again after changing your bars. Remember- you are changing to more upright position with the albatross bars- and that will make it even more likely that the Brooks saddle will be comfortable for you. Brooks saddles do particularly well on bikes with more upright riding position.
ok, so why are you queen of the elipses??
thanks, LSH...as I wrote the letter and thought about the new handlebars, it occurred to me i may have answered my own question... but it's great to have it corroborated (geez, I have totally fogotten how to spell that word...)
Are they fast over at Rivendell? they look like they might be kinda pokey...
...I am...constantly...hitting that dot three times...serves as comma colon semi colon and period...thus queen of the ellipses. (did you think I meant elliptical?!?!?! not a chance)

The selle an atomica arrived and i'm trying it out...but when I watched TV last night, I held my B67 on my lap :p and pushed on it like Knot sugested. I want to put it back on and give the SAA to my DH....The SAA is comfortable, but I think I can get the Brooks to work.

we have paint markers here in every color, including white. measuring with a ruler can help too.
I'll try that...white paint marker
I did use nail polish...and maybe once I have an actual setting for it, it will stay put....won't always be rubbin' on it moving the darn saddle around! or maybe not....
Lisa, I have internal gears (8) so I have a little console that looks like a speedometer...very cute and very fun and VERY easy! It rests just above the grip. A little bulky.
