No, not a bike. The teardrop trailer I mentioned a week or so ago.

It's a homebuilt woody. I already started some modifications. My plans are to load the bikes in the back of the truck, hitch up the TD and go.

I'm going to be 'redecorating' inside and out. I have bought some cute little appliances already. Pulled the foam mattress out to air, though it doesn't smell or anything. I think in the interior picture you can see the striped storage boxes I've gotten.

Who wants to go with me next weekend?

Wow, that is great! DH and I have been talking about getting one of those for a few years now. What do you think of it. Let me know how your first trip with it goes. Have fun:D

TOO COOL!
We've toyed with the idea of getting one. We love to go camping and I'd enjoy that soooo much more than a tent (I'm getting too old to sleep on the ground).
Will you paint it, or leave it the beautiful wood tone? It's so pretty!!!

Love the stiped boxes. You'll have to take more pictures when you get all your cutesy touches on it!

No paint. I want to stain parts of it to show off some of the 'architecture'. Most likely the trim and the swoop in the curve. Then considering running a tiny line of color along the swoop.

It's quite campable now. If the weather is good for next weekend, I'm planning a test run.

That's going to be danged hard to pull up hills on your bike!

No, seriously, that looks fun!

Your tools are very organized...you wouldn't like visiting our garage!

MAJOR drool..:D

where did you get that? was it a kit or plans?

The man who built it, built it to go camping with his grandsons. The shelves that aren't shown in the pics were actually the bunks. Now they are the galley. El Hombre, Craigslist.

Mr. S, that pic is quite deceiving as to the organization of my garage! It doesn't show the no longer functional riding mower that I don't know what to do with. :o

Maybe you can find a lawnmower repair shop that could use it for parts?

I have a 1963 Serro Scotty. I love it.
They are the best kind of campers.

Zen, I will probably try that, but it has a Tecumseh engine, which they all turn their noses up at. & justifiably so.

indi, those scotties are cute. You can actually stand up in them too! Is it original or restored or um just old. :D

Actually I live downriver from the 2 worst dams in the United States. We actually have plans in place in this area for what to do if one of them gives. Fortunately, my house is on high ground. :o

It's original, kind of restored, and old.

It's "featured" in this short video of me and Mister Indi's trip to the Adirondacks:

Indi, Nifty. Pretty place too. Was your DH trying to make me dizzy with the out-the-door shot? :p

Elk, I've heard about the one from Sundance. I haven't seen it, but will look.

There is a TN company that makes woodys that run about $13,000.

I checked those out when I decided to buy one, but blanched at the price.

He was being silly.
That's a campsite his family has been going to for years.
It's on a road that loops around the southern part of the park, then up through Loon Lake, eventually connecting with a road that goes through Saranac, Lake Placid, then down route 9 and back around again. bout 130 miles.

So next year... the plan is... to ride it.
Which would be so so cool. We usually just hike, but I think it would be so much fun to ride up there.

And Esmerelda (that's her name) will make a nice little home to come home to.

I used to have a 1961 Ford Falcon station wagon named Esmeralda!

I haven't named my TD. Hoping (s)he will tell me like Black Beauty and Ole Blue did.

If anyone is interested, we are thinking about selling our Serro Scotty teardrop camper (featured in the video above.) It's a great little camper. We aren't using it enough to warrant its storage under a tarp in the back paddock. It needs someone to love it.

If you are in the NE area give me a shout and maybe you can come and see it and we can talk price or trade.

It looks like this, in somewhat better shape:

and the hope is that it will someday look like this:

http://www.antiquewhs.com/2003089.jpg

It is a lightweight tow behind camper, enough room for two, very cute playhouse style kitchenette and bunk inside.
