cheap arm and leg warmers

I tried on some PI leg warmers at an LBS, around $40, and really heavy. Not so convenient for carrying in jersey back pockets once it warms up. So, I thought, how about classic ballet leg warmers. Looked online, and they started at around $15, and since I don't seem to have a dance-wear store close by, I'd have to pay for shipping.

So today, my BF wanted to go to Newbury Comics, a cd chain store here in the Northeast that I usually dread going into because it's not really my scene. I left him there and walked to the nearby sports store, which had a really, really sad cycling section. No leg warmers there.

Back at NC, BF wasn't quite ready to go, so I started looking around at the punk girl clothes. Low and behold, arm and leg warmers, plain black, tight knit, very light weight, for $9.99(arm) and $6.99(leg). They had ones with skulls and spiderwebs, too. Cute! They were all the rage when I was in high school, so I guess they're retro now :eek: ! I got the plain black ones, tried them with my knickers, and they're exactly what I was looking for. The arm warmers are great, too. Both roll up tiny and fit nicely into my back pocket.

Wonder what else I'm overlooking in the stores I avoid? More good cycling stuff?

Even cheaper, try cutting the toes off a pair of long socks for arm warmers. I used my sock arm warmers on my commute this morning.
