At the suggestion of many bikers I got the Joe Friel - Cyclist Training Bible, as I wanted my rides to become more productive, and for me to get faster. Lots of good info, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out the ride programs:confused:

I spent about an hour on the phone with a friend who helped me put it together - but it is still quite a project to figure out all the charts. Mind you, I am a photographer for a living, and I have to do pretty technical stuff all the time. Plus, if any of you have ever tried to use the help function in Adobe Photoshop, you'll understand when I say that Friel took the Photoshop "writing with clarity course". Not!

I like lots of other parts of the book, and I could use some tips from those who refer to it regularly.

You might be interested in buying a training plan. I got one put together by Joel Friel from www.trainingpeaks.com and I loved it. Mine was geared toward cycle touring with daily long rides and climbing, but they offer lots of plans for all kinds of goals or events. Definitely worth $100 to me.
