Saw these beauties whilst riding near our cabin in Island Park, Idaho (not at all a tropical place despite the word "island") and thought I would share the picture. I am sure we'd all love to see some pictures from other parts of the US and elsewhere of fall in full swing. Please share your fall riding pictures with us....

Love fall!!
If only we could skip winter, hmmm........

Flybye,
Thanks for the picture. What a great idea for a new thread:) :) Glad to see you were able to ride. I hope to ride the afternoon in Pocatello. Can you join me?

Yes, what a lovely pic and great idea for a thread. I think I will ask for my own camera for Christmas and then learn how to post pics.

It's kinda halfway up a big hunk of rock called Stone Mt. in NC. It does kinda look like a road, though, because it's slab so it's very low angled, actually you kinda climb it like spider man, theres not a whole lot of hands and you just friction your way up in a stooped-over position. Very cool little place.

You can come with me next time!! Don't cry.... waaaa... okay, now I am crying!
I would love to do a ride on the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway...
Hmmm, now you and Shiraz both have me thinking........
Wouldn't that be fun??? TE takes to Mesa Falls Scenic Byway and then sacks out at Flybye's family cabin? By the way, we have a 5 gallon water heater, we'd really have to plan out those showers.

Shiraz, thanks for the call! I wish I could make the ride tonight. Next time....

Beautiful pictures & a great idea for a thread. Not much in leaf color down here in VA yet (except for green) I will be sure to take some once the change begins - but be prepared to wait about a month.

No turning colors here just yet, but when they start changing, I'll snap some pics. We don't have nearly as many trees around here as some of you (NC, VA, ID, etc), but the few we have can be quite pretty!

Ok, so it's not exactly foliage, but I just had to share this. It's a 342 lb pumpkin that my coworker grew in his yard. No photoshopping, this is real! We rode 30 miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone into the park. Here are a couple of pictures of the leaves up thata' way -
The first picture is of the climb up the hill in Ashton, about 40 miles from Yellowstone - it was a hazy day - must have been a fire somewhere.

The second picture is in the park. The area that we rode through is beautiful, although there isn't too much for foilage because of the 88 fire in Yellowstone. I will post more picts of our ride that aren't fall related on another thread.

Beautiful pictures. I'll be sure to get some from around here.

Fall just amazes me. Its so pretty. I haven't seen it in 10 years (7 years in Phoenix and then 3 years in Cold Bay, AK). I'm enjoying every day looking up to the mountains, seeing the leaves change and the termination dust. Everyone hates me around here, but I'm excited for the snow!

That's funny, I hadn't actually seen him! It's also funny, because it could rip your leg off - that is the meanest dog known to man. If he was any bigger, he would have been put to sleep, since he's less than 20 lbs and about 10 inches tall at the withers, I can control him and most people just laugh at him when he attacks.
There is also lots of coyote skat around this walk, never seen one here. I've seen several at another location that I walk. This location is about 100 yards from the Yakima river (thus the trees in the background, no river means no trees).
Later I'll attach another photo of the same walk with Murphy (the aforementioned dog) taking a dirt bath, he loves dirt baths.

I really like smugmug. The features are great, the developers continue to work on new stuff, and the community is wonderful. I highly recommend it. And if you decide to switch, you can get $5 off of your first year's subscription by placing my referral code ( llX8NBuQ4l6uQ ) in the 'Referred by' field on the signup form.

The community website is http://www.dgrin.com, and it goes well beyond smugmug. There is a small section that is devoted to smugmug and smugmug customization, but the bulk of it is about photography.

As far as selling goes, I have had my galleries there for a long time, and I switched to a pro account over a year ago, but I didn't open up my galleries to sell prints until very recently. No sales yet, but maybe someday...

Let us know what your printroom address is when you're ready.

Winter is due to hit tonight, and it was much colder today than it has been. A friend and I took advantage of the snow-free conditions to do a trail run up high. Still some color going on up there, but it's going fast. Here are a few shots. It was cloudy, so the light was flat. :(

This East Coast transplant to California thanks y'all profusely for your photos!! I soo miss the fall foliage. Let's get this old thread back in action :)

We've been on a long and lovely bike ride today. The fall is so beautiful and I love the amazing colors :D But now I need a MTB :p The ride could have been so much better with a mtb frame with a suspension fork instead of a hybrid frame with a fixed carbon fork and narrow tires :(:) It's a lovely excuse for a new bike! :D

Not from this year's riding in the fall but from two years ago, I love this photo and use it as wallpaper on my desktop during the autumn.

Great pics! Devoid, I'm glad you bumped this thread. I'll see if I can take one to add to it tomorrow.
