I attended the start of stage 5 in Jefferson City. We could wander around, walk right up to the teams and their cars. The cyclists were very good about autographs and pictures. The cyclists circled the capitol twice and then headed east to St. Charles. I'll probably attend the final stage tomorrow in St. Louis. This was one of the most exciting things I've seen!
1. George
2. Levi
3. One of the teams having a meeting before (Kodak?)

1. I didn't realize I had the capitol in the background. Very cool
The rest: The first circle of the capitol after the start. Amazing how fast they were going! George is in yellow. He is winning the tour so far.

Yes, it was terrific being so close. Next year, I'm opening up my house to TE members. TOM party!!!!! I'll even pick up at the airport. (TOM=Tour of Missouri). I'm in the center of the state. It's perfect! Any takers? I'm also taking off work next year. I can't believe this is in MISSOURI!!!

Oh, oh, oh...I was there too! Went to Stage 4 start in Lebanon and finish in Columbia! I even got Contador's autograph! (and Svein Tuft, and Ivan Dominguez and a whole bunch of others) So many hot guys in Lycra...so little time :D

I'll post pics as soon as I can.

You got alot closer than I did! I wanted to take Friday off and go to Lebanon and then Columbia, but I didn't. Next year I will! I'm right between them both. Did you see any other stages? I was going to go to St. Louis today, but alas, I didn't make it.

What yummy pictures of George, AG - thanks for posting! :D

Did Versus not have any coverage of the tour today? I turned it on at 3:30 after our hike, and there was nothing on at all about the tour. :( The Ironman Arizona coverage was kinda interesting, but I'd rather see Georgie! :D

I was at the Start/Finish line in St. Louis today, and the whole atmosphere was great. I got to stand right next to George's bike while he was at anti-doping - couldn't resist a quick pat on the seat (of the bike, not George :p ).

Nicest scene of the day - the whole Discovery Team, plus some former 7/11, Mortorola and USPS riders were called up on the stage for a bow after the rest of the presentations. There was a huge cheer from the crowd, and the biggest hand was for Johan. Very classy of the organizers.

What was amazing for me....well. I grew up in rural MO. I live in Philadelphia now, and only go "home" once a year. When I heard there was going to be a pro race there, I was floored. St. Louis, OK..Kansas City...OK, but the rest of MO? I was surprised! So I centered my vacation around it. And my state made me proud! As we "jumped" the course I was amazed at the "little old ladies" in hats wating to watch th racers go by. It was just cool. :D

I was looking on Versus also and was disappointed there was no coverage.
