Ok all,
Greetings from CT ! I just picked up my packet and got the course info. We drove the bike section too. Excited! The tough decisions.. wetsuit? water temps 72-74. air temps will be 50ish (sunny but cool). Race org ppl said we would not need, and it is kinda time consuming to remove. Dist is .5 miles, what do you think?
also I did not bring my cycling jacket but do have armwarmers with me. grr. I assume I should wear those w trisuit..
sent from phone, sorry for shortness!

Exciting!!!
Being that I've only done one tri, I'm an advocate for wetsuits just because they make swimming easier. Then again my T1 time was 6 minutes...
Let us know how it goes!!! The water temperature sounds perfect.

hmmmm.... half mile swim? I'd probably go with the wetsuit. Anything to help flotation is something I'm on board for. It'll take a wee bit longer to pull it off in transition, but if you think it's worth it for the security/flotation then wear that puppy. If you don't feel like you need it, the water should be warm enough that you'll be fine. That wasn't very helpful, was it?
And yeah, arm warmers for sure. Sounds like it'll be cold on the bike if the air temp is only going to be 50. Yikes! I've done that before- it only looks a little weird, but who cares? Comfort comes before fashion in my book!

Right on, thanks for the answers. Was leaning toward the suit so your answers confirm!
Temps will be warming post swim so it will be a game time decision but I agree- comfort is key there!
I hope I can sleep tonight!

Tasha - if you can sleep, you are calmer than I was!!!
Pictures, definitely would love to see pictures. As soon as you aren't typing from the phone, I'd love to hear details too :D

If swimming is not your strongest event then wear the wetsuit. Definitely wear the arm warmers. Don't worry about anything else. You'll be warm from the swim so the arm warmers should be enough unless there is a longer downhill in the early part of the ride.
Go hard and have a great race!

Have a great race Tygab!
Arm warmers. Definatley arm warmers... You can always take them off if you get hot but the chill factor is there that's for sure. I wouldn't be suprised if you left them on for your run.
