Wow, Fredwina, nice ride!
Just a measly 22 around the lake twice. Headache and general Friday-itis had me stopping early.
Today was the first cool day we've had since..... I guess since early spring (ok- not counting the month of June when it rained every stinkin' day). It was VERY nice!

Went out with the cute teammate for a 40 miler in crosswinds the whole way. Riding with him caused me to push myself harder then normal, I pulled at least half the ride and we averaged 20 mph, including a couple big bridges slow downs for red lights, and our cool down.
I did 40 miles- my longest yet! It had less climbing than most of my rides, but there was one whopper of a hill. Fortunately, the downhill made the uphill worth every second of misery. My average wasn't so impressive (13mph), but, for me, it really wasn't bad.
Also, up until today, I had been diligent with the sunscreen. Today, not so much. I now have all the lovely tan lines I've heard so much about (and I'm a little bit proud of them!).

15 miles today; first my work commute IN THE DARK this morning.
Used my new Schmidt generator hubs and with my own two legs generated enough electricity to light two headlights! That was cool and a little scary.
This afternoon I rode to Fremont which included going downtown. I opted to take 3rd avenue which has REALLY changed. At ever intersection is a bright neon sign that says "DO NOT ENTER" and that sign is for cars. Only buses and motorcycles are allowed on that street during the busy parts of the day.
It was an interesting dance between me and the buses.
I took the outside lane, they picked up passengers, they took the outside lane,
i took the right lane and let them pass. It was fun without CARS!
I did my first early morning ride. I got up at 5am and drove over to meet my co-worker at the park and then rode the bike path about 15 miles around the dam as the sun came up. It was cold, but really fun. I would have loved to keep going, but I had an 8am patient and had to get to work.

I did a beautiful 22 mile sunset ride solo, with two monster hills.
I'm wicked proud of myself. ;)
