Did 15.63 miles after DH got home from work, same loop that I had the can thrown at me on. Legs were pretty dead but still managed to average 15.9. Nothing particularly special about this ride but I am saddened at how quickly the days seem to be getting shorter. :(

4.1 miles for my commute.
I went in a few minutes earlier than usual and found myself riding into the sun on the canal trail. No duckies in the canal today. It was cool enough that I kept my jacket on the whole time.
I left on time for a change to come home. I had a lot of my former students waving at me from their cars as they were on their way home from the middle school. It's always fun to see them and try to recognize and remember them.

DH left work early so we could go ride. We rode 26 miles stopping in the middle for lunch. Was a beautiful day! I felt amazingly good despite the tri last sunday and the impending tri next sunday. Maybe this cross-training works :D

Ahhh..I finally managed to get 50km in on my morning ride. I often run out of time & end up doing only 46-47km.. Therefore i'm one happy chickie:) . That and i did the 50km in 2hrs :08..
Anywho, my ride home tonight should be exciting or might be exciting..The wind is supposed to pick up but who knows! I'll have to wait for the updated BOM forecast at 4:30.
Going to do a group ride tomorrow..first time in a lonnnng time that i've actually biked with anyone!!!
It'll be strange to have to bike around people!!!

As I was out riding yesterday I was thinking to myself that the daily ride thread has sort of become scattered ride days. I rode 42 miles with my riding partner, started out at 45degrees, but sunny. Might have been 55-60 degrees when we finished. There was a change of plans for the afternoon so my original route of 20 miles was increased to 42. It was a crisp, sunny, beautiful day for a ride. Not riding today, saving all my energy for our Highlander cycle tour tomorrow, 100miles.

Thanks for starting the thread today, Amanda! I always like reading about everyone's daily rides.
Yesterday I commuted to my new job (25 miles away) for the first time! Yippee!!! :D
Ok- so I didn't commute the whole way (who has 2 hours in the dark to ride?). I did a hybrid commute. Drove my car to my LBS 9 miles away, then rode the rest of the way to work.
Morning ride in was peaceful and dark (for most of the way) and uneventful. The afternoon ride was a bit more nerve wrecking with all the traffic (and the "iffy" part of town I rode through was awake and alive with commotion).
If I do it again I'll need to find another route (which means another parking place because from the LBS there's only one way out of downtown).
Oh well- glad I tried it anyway! :)

Humberto soaked through. I like riding, but not in a Tropical Storm.

Maybe we should do something like a weekday ride thread, then a weekend ride thread. So this week would have been 9/10-14 and this weekend would be 9/15-16 thread.

I got stuck at work and missed my afternoon ride yesterday. Today is a planned rest day for our MS150 this weekend. Century tomorrow, 50 mile 'recovery ride' on Sunday. Can't wait!!
Just hoping that the remains of Humberto moves through today and tonight and that tomorrow dawns dry. :)

I like that idea so much I changed the thread title.

Without my commute, there wouldn't be much weekday riding for me. :(
I generally don't bother posting about my commute unless something interesting happens. And...sometimes it's best when it doesn't! ;)

My ride yesterday was stupendous! Great temps, no wind, low humidity..what a wonderful time. I rode a club ride on Wed. Very nice one too in spite of the wind, temps were great ~75...did 37 miles @ 13 mph but was itching to work harder.
Sooo, did something I've not done before...I asked another faster rider to ride on Thurs. We did 47 miles and did I work!! MPH number in my head before the ride was 15 and I had 15.1 with 2500' of climbing. Of course he had to wait for me but it really helped me push to have a 'rabbit'. Heart rate was 142 and my smile was ear to ear.

still 105 degrees here, but the monsoon is over!! woo hoo!! no more high humidity!! no more $300 air conditioning bills!!
rode 34 miles yesterday, it's hot, but a drop in the dew point is a slice of heaven!! averaged 16.3 according to the polar. but i think that factors in total time, since between stops at lights (every mile) i was pretty determined to maintain over 19, i was trying to really train hard.
we're heading into perfect cycling weather!

Went for 32.27 rolling miles ALONE this morning. Started at 8:30, the weather is so beautiful today. Early in my ride I saw 4 Blue Herons (I think- big water birds) which was spectacular. One was wading, two wear flying and one appeared to be swimming. They are really majestic birds. Also saw some billy goats who came towards the fence, very interested in whether I would bring food. I love goats. Then a whole herd of longhorns. I don't like the univ of texas longhorns but actual living Longhorns are just a sight. So powerful looking.
Toward the end of a the ride I was greeted by a motorist who must have been as happy as me about the weather. To make sure I felt their enthusiam they laid on their horn for 5-10 seconds as they approached me. I didn't want them to think I didn't appreciate their friendliness so I smilled a huge smile and waved with the utmost enthusiam. :p
Got home with an average speed of 15.7, not great but it is a ride full of rollers. Now enjoying a nice glass of chocolate milk before packing for our coastal getaway. :D
