Just a little advice...my biking coach was hit by a car a few months back (the car tried to cut in front of him to turn) anyhow luckily he was fine but his bike was fairly mangled. The driver was very apologetic and my coach suggested she write a check to cover the damage (he low balled the damage, said about $50) the driver jumped at the opportunity. A few weeks later the driver's lawyer called back and said they were suing my coach for the damage to the driver's car ($4000!). My coach calmly told the lawyer his client owed him $200 for damage to his bike (he saved the receipts) and told the lawyer his client already admitted guilt by writing him a check!

So if ever in a collision with a car and it is obviously the car's fault suggest they write a check for the damage, this way you will be covered...I've had so many friends that let it slide thinking everyone was ok, no harm done and then a lawyer calls them wanting to sue!

hope this is helpful, be safe all and follow the rules of the road!
;)
