Levi New US National Champion

Did anyone see the race on VS.? Looks like Levi is the new US National Champion. George didn't sound too happy. He said he had the legs but that he is and always has been a team player... I think he was a bit miffed that Levi took off and took away his opportunity to repeat.

After reading this post I figured I needed to go watch the race on the ol dvr...
I'm conflicted on this one... Being a Sonoma County-an, I'm an avid Levi fan. I thought he was very gracious at the tdf w/ the Contador thing. I also met him years ago when I was out training, and he really IS a nice guy..
But I also have always liked gorgeous George. And a part of me has to wonder if indeed the team was told "If anyone on disco wins today, it will be Levi. Period".. Don't know if this happened, but it sure sounded like it from Hincapies comments. And I just don't think that's right. Esp. since the team is disbanding anyway.. I dunno?? Like I said, I'm conflicted.
Gotta wonder what teams everyone is going to end up on?? :rolleyes:

george supposedly has a contract for next year (and rumored to be a nice one at that), levi is still looking. wearing the stars and stripes might help him find a team, demand a "reasonable" salary.

Yeah - George there certainly did seem to be talking through gritted teeth at the end of that race....

My husband and I think the same as Dogmom, Levi still needs a team and George is set, so Levi gets to win that one.... I don't think that Levi told him that, I think the team management did. But fair is fair, Levi sure did help George win that jersey last year and they weren't even on the same team yet.
