We advertised our Giant hybrids in the paper over the weekend. The ad ended on Sunday and it's Tuesday and no one had called.

Then I got "the call" today. They came right over to see them and immediately bought both mine and DH's bikes! I think they got new great owners. It was amazing when they walked up. She was my size and he was DH's size. What luck!

We love our new road bikes, but I was still sad to see them go. :o

The woman i bought my Mariposa from (who is now a friend and riding bud) said getting rid of it was like saying goodbye to an old lover:o

Whew. I don't know. I was relieved to be rid of my old lovers. :p I guess I'm sort of relieved that they sold too.;)

Let's all raise our glasses to the hybrids that got us started. I've hung on to mine for friends who are curious about riding, rather like a trusty old horse who can be trusted with most inexperienced rider. Though actually, I just took my hybrid out on Saturday to coach a brand new rider on a bike path. I was gonna go as slow as possible, and clipping in would've been silly. So I'll keep ol' Cypress in the barn, she doesn't eat much.

These are definitely new riders. The lady that bought it demonstrated that all she knew was she did not want to have to bend over (like on a road bike).

Then she said "now we have the bikes, all we need is the motivation" to which I replied "do you want us to call you too, to get you up and going?" :D

I sold my first road bike and was so sad. She would have just sat there and the money came in handy but it still hurt. The girl who bought it said she wanted to ride with us come spring but never called. I lost her contact info. I hope my little baby is still enjoying the open road.

after getting my new bike i had to sell my Bianchi, but i kept my Raleigh hybrid. I hope to put fatter tires on it and use it like a hybrid should be used instead of trying to make it into a road bike.

Congrats on selling those bikes so fast. It IS a relief when that happens.

I wish I still had my 1973 Raleigh Record.
Sure, it would be wall art by now but I worked hard for it - weekends at McDonalds and layaway at the LBS. Took possession on a hot July day, rode 10miles home, pounded down some cold root beer and barfed.
Ahh, good times :p

Hear, hear!!!

Only sometimes I wish the jerk who stole it is plagued with flats and saddle sores!!!

Cheers to that, and ditto to the bad karma for the thieves. Wonder where my Giant Cypress is right now... :(
