Bought Specialized GB gloves for £24.99 (about 50 dollars) over one year ago and they have been everything i could have wished for. I have washed them lots in the machine but this week they fell apart.... they look great but each piece of padding has come away from the glove itself.....................
I was so sad....
Took back to my LBS and hey ho new pair with no hastle at all
apparently Specialized have a lifetime guarantee on faulty goods
only thing is the new ones have some PINK on the fingers ... oh not good for me as i only love RED!!!!
cant wait to try them out tomorrow....

I washed a pair a few weeks ago. The next mornign, they were ever so slightly damp, and I was ready to go out for a ride. So what'd I do? I popped those puppies in the microwave for less than a minute. What an idiot! The leather dried, but the synthetic parts melted. End result? I got a new pair of glooves. Bad part of it all was that the old gloves were not even a month old. Duh!

I've got Specialized gloves too (pink, black and grey) and love them. They've really saved my hands twice in the past few weeks:D
Now I want a winter pair.

Good for you! :)
I had my PI full-finger gloves for all of a month when they started to fall apart. I've darned them several times and after reading your post decided to take them to the LBS and see if I could exchange them or something (have had them about 3 months now). No dice. They said PI's are very good quality and they've never seen anyone wear through them like I did. Also, that I shouldn't expect any gloves to last more than a season. So, I asked, how long is a season and was told 4-6 months, so my having these for three months is just shy of a season. They gave me recommendations on some heavy-duty mb gloves that I could buy. Walked out and will buy at the other LBS down the way - I buy everything there now - even though they are a bit more pricey, they have awesome customer service.

I've had a pair of Specialized BG gloves for about a year now, wash them in the machine, and they work like champs. Still holding together just fine, but it's good to know I can get them replaced for free if they ever give up the ghost.

Huh to the salesguy? I have two pairs of PI gloves I have had since 1994ish. One is full lobster claw style, the other half finger typical cycling gloves. Granted I didn't ride as much til last yr with the old bike but I have washed, dried in drier, soaked, and heated on heaters etc both sets over their lives many many times, not just for cycling. Neither is falling apart so the explanation of it is to be expected after 6 months is totally off to me. After 13 years I got some new ones to rotate in since I am riding a lot more now.
But I still use my old ones too, though a little worn.
Oh, and PI's web site says Lifetime Guarantee as well. Now, I would not claim this in my case (I have gotten more use out of them than I could reasonably expect), but 3 months??? Most definitely avail yourself of it.
