I was riding yesterday in Boston area, it was about 55 degrees. This super roadie geek rides up at a crosswalk. He was wearing a TINY super thin tri-athlete skinsuit. He must have been freezing.
But he also had on black armwarmers. With the sleeveless tri-suit and the black arm warmers, it looked for all the world like he had on an evening dress with long black gloves!
Ha!

welllll ..... in the "glass houses and stones" scheme of things .... just imagine what non-cyclists say about those of us who wear spandex cycling shorts ...
" hey honey - lookit that lady over there in the skimpy back shorts with the diaper - doesn't she know how dumb she looks ???? "
just sayin' ... ;)

But that said I gotta agree arm warmers with a sleevless tank is kind of an odd look. :D
But it's used to great effect on costume rides, and rides like the Cinderella where many of the participants dress for the occasion. There was a group of women who called themselves the Martini Chix who wore black tank tops with shiny silver armwarmers. Cha-cha-cha !

this guy was just kinda funny because he was obviously a VERY serious roadie. The expression on his face was as severe as his carbon bike.
But I got nothin against it

I saw a tarantula last week, crossing the trail in front of us. Thom guesses he was about 4 inches across.

Arrgh. Wish we could post pictures directly, I've got a really cool tarantula picture from last year's fall Academy Grad ride. She was in the middle of the road, I was afraid she'd get run over, so I kinda nudged her with a stick. She actually reared up at me!! I could almost hear her saying "Don't mess with me!!!"
I have been known to wear arm warmers with a sleeveless jersey, but then I also hang out with a bunch of Queens..........:p

Was out mountain biking today and it was chilly. We were all wearing long legs, thermal longsleeve jersey's and windproof tops and we ran into 2 guys who were asking directions.
The one guy looked pretty well wrapped up but the other guy was wearing - bagging cotton t-shirt, cotton shorts and get this... open toed sandles and bare feet!. Brrrrrrrr. He must have been absolutely freezing!!!
We'd been riding hard for about 2 hours and could still feel the wind chill, so the only thing we could think of was either he's forgotten it was now autumn or he was thermo-nuclea heated! Gave us a chuckle anyway...:p

ROFL - well - I'm one of those people. I wear arm warmers with sleeveless jerseys. The guy at my LBS said he thought it looked "sexy". (OK - made me rethink That look for a minute! :p ) Anyway - it can be chilly in the mornings in the mountains here but blistering in the afternoons hence - armwarmers for the forearms and biceps, sleeveless for the ride home. I never thought of the evening dress look. Might need to go home and put "sparklies" on my arm warmers now!
