I am pretty new to cycling (7 weeks) and am a bit mystified by all the talk of 'sit bones' and saddles and pain and stuff - I wonder, am I sitting wrong or something on my bike?
I believe the 'sit bones' people are referring to are the ones under your butt - one each side of the pelvis and this seems to be what people are using to rest their weight on the saddle? is this right?
I have had not 'sit bone' pain since I started cycling a few weeks ago despite doing long-ish rides up to 45 miles-- I am sitting with my weight on the more front of my pelvis (think the technical term is pubis symphysis) - it is the bone at the front bottom of the pelvis-- am I sitting wrong on the saddle - should I not be in this position???
the bike is 'fit' to me and is XS size so it is not having to do a long arm reach that is excessive making me sit like this or anything - does anyone else ride with their torso weight on the front of their pelvis rather than the sit bones?? it seems to be painfree like this for me--
