I was able to ride the Tour De Tahoe in September with my husband this year and had a great time.

Just thought I would put in a plug for a well organized and very well supported ride.

Being from Idaho, I wasn't used to riding with so much constant traffic but still had a great time. It was so beautifully scenic......just can't beat it.

that's good to know ... my BF and I are sort of kicking that one around for next year. I know it has to be a gorgeous ride .... I just have to figure out how to turn the ride into a four or five day Tahoe getaway!

We rode the June version a couple of years ago. It was our first organized century. It's a great ride, very well supported. Just make sure you get a hotel on the California side. They smoke in Nevada!

You're not going to believe this, but after having lived in northern CA for 27 years I finally went to Lake Tahoe for the first time ever -- only to do this ride. It was gorgeous, but the traffic can be a pain. The only way I would ride these roads is with an organized group. They did a terrific job with signs warning the motorists and law enforcement really did put out a great effort. They nailed some really dangerous drivers.

Highly recommend it. Good way to see the Lake. Also, we got a condo so it was easy to stay away from the smoke.

This was also our first organized ride. They had four support stations for the 72 mile ride then a big pasta dinner on the pool deck area of one of the big hotels at the end of the ride. My husband said that this was the first time he was actually stuffed from all the food by the end of the ride :)......but we managed to enjoy the pasta dinner as well.

It definitely makes me want to ride other organized rides.
