I know that there is one person on here that rides an IBEX. My husband is considering the IBEX Corrida LT Disc.
He has also looked at the Giant FCR3.

I rode the Corrida CT for a few months. Then I upgraded to a road bike. I LOVED the CT. (DH made me sell it.) My concern about the one you are mentioning is the disc brakes. It seems unnecessary unless you are commuting in fould weather on it. Adds so much weight! But, if you like the disc brakes, I can vouch that the bike itself is excellent.

That's why I'm glad I asked this question. I don't know anything about disk brakes.
That bike happens to be the only flat bar road bike that IBEX now carries. The bike without pedals weighed a little over 22 pounds which is close to what my Trek 1000 weighs.
He will not be using it for commuting. He will just be riding for pleasure but he wants to be faster than he is on his hybrid, but because of neck and shoulder issues, he is not comfortable on a regular road bike.

Honestly, then I probably wouldn't go for it. The CT I bought at the beginning of the season was an excellent deal. But, a friend of mine very knowledgeable about bikes says the Corrida they have now is just not such a good deal. There are some better and lighter components than on the CT, but the weight savings is negated by having the disc brakes which are really unnecessary for casual rides.
When I was shopping for my flatbar, I was impressed by the Marin Lucas Valley, the Specialized Sirrus Sport, and the Giant FCR 2. Hope that helps!

All of the Corrida's have been discontinued except for this one. Here in town we have a Giant and a Trek dealer. To get anything else, we would have to travel an hour and a half. I'd rather buy in town. The Trek dealer does not have any Pilots in stock.
We looked at the Giant FCR3. Maybe he should look closer and compare it with the FCR2.
Thanks! it does help a lot!

You should look at the Jamis Coda line. I recently got a Coda Sport for commuting and am thrilled with it. Steel is real! But seriously, the Codas are great, well spec'd bikes at good prices.

Oh, if you have a Trek dealer, then it's worth thinking about the FX series too. The 7.5FX looks nice. I tried the 7.3 and wasn't really impressed, but you never know...

I second the Jamis Coda recommendation. I just bought a Coda Comp. Great value!

For some reason Jamis is nearly impossible to find around here.

I'm disappointed to hear that the Corridas have been discontinued. I thought that they were just out of the 07s.
I want to get a flat bar roadie to leave at my folks' house in Atlanta and since Ibex is just north of there, I was thinking of getting one from the warehouse.

They aren't discontinued... They are just out of the 07's. I got one of the last two CT's and that was in April. The Ibex guy said they totally underestimated the demand for that bike. It really was a great buy. Wish I still had it as my around-town bike, but my DH is a meanie...

This is what I got from IBEX in an email:
I'm afraid the Corrida CT has been discontinued. While it might reappear in our line-up some time in the future, it will not be with us for 2008. In fact, the Corrida LTD (LT Disc) is the only of that series in-stock now and the only Corrida model that will be repeated for our 2008 model-year.

I stand corrected! In April, they told me they just ran out. I can't believe they would discontinue such a popular bike.

I emailed them to ask when they expected more in stock. That was his reply. :o It was such a good deal, we probably would have gotten one.
