Our son is almost 27 years old and has been dating a wonderful girl for a year now. He came over today and talked to us about them getting married.
She has taught Special Ed. for 7 years and is now working on her master's degree. She is the sweetest thing and will make a wonderful wife and daughter-in-law.
I guess you can tell I'm more than excited. :D
I think they should wait until they're at least 40. But thats just me.
Never buy her pet supplies for her birthday (like my MIL did for me) and you'll be fine.

Congrats.
When Silver and I were dating at THE University of Alabama, I once mentioned to my parents that they should consider inviting her parents over for dinner sometime...They looked disturbed:confused:  What did I say????
I didn't know that this could be grounds for an "announcement". Later my Dad let me know that IF we wanted to get married, that was fine...as long as HER dad was willing to support me through graduation.;) ;) :)
Of course, Silver and I had SilverDaughter when I was 27... hmmm...  :p
PS: I could hear your Mississippi accent peeking through your excitement...even on an internet forum.;) :D Music to the ears of the Silver household, got it ya'll?;)

Congratulations! I'll bet you'll be a wonderful MIL!
That's a reasonable age to get hitched--I was 28 when I got married, and the Chief and I will celebrate our 26th anniversary on Wednesday.

LOL Zen... my daughter is in a fairly settled relationship at just 19, and I'm thinking that maybe 30 would have been good place to "let" her date ROFLMAO
And you got pet supplies? I got a new toilet! :p
Congrats, though Sandra
Glad you are happy with the girl your son has chosen - ultimately thats what we want for our children - for them to be happy in their life-choices
