Anyone "out there" have opinions about Trek/Specialized/Cannondale as far as recreational bikes go. Wanna go faster! Would like carbon forks at least...I'm looking hard at Allez/Trek 2100....any stories?
Thanks!

I rode (and loved) my old Trek 1000; rode her for 11-12 yrs. I recently bought an Allez Comp. The first time I rode her, I came home grinning like that famous monkey :D

I had taken her out on the Fellsway and ridden her round and round a nearby traffic rotary. I couldn't stop... it was soooo fast!
I was WITH traffic, getting that great lean into the turn. She responded so well.

I came home and said to my roomate "That is a bike!"

my opinion :)

I've heard great things about the Allez Comp... my mom rides one and loooooves it. It's her first road bike after riding an old Diamondback cruiser for years and years.

Cool! I've gone from an old Dace Scott edition diamondback, to a F. Moser Cro Mo, to my present Giant OCR3, so this will be my LAST upgrade, thanks! Gonna test drive it this coming Monday.

I bought an Allez Dolce (sp?) this year and just love it. Fits me perfectly.

She white and silve......may not be fast but I sure look fast :D

Great, thanks! Gonna test drive a Allez Comp & Elite on Monday...want to get at least 105's or Ultegra, can't really afford the Dura Ace group much as I like it.

I think the Allez Comp only comes fitted with Ultegra... but not totally sure. You may be able to upgrade to Dura Ace, but I don't know if they downgrade from Ultegra. Maybe its an LBS choice??
