First Crit

Well, I had my first crit and it was fun!!! My goal was to stay with the pack and not get dropped or get into trouble - and I hung and didn't wreck or cause a wreck!!! I think I'm gonna' like this racing stuff. I was amazed that I was not scared to be so close to other riders and felt like I belonged there. I didn't really know how to guage energy use - so I just reacted to surges and never went to the front. I just stayed in and watched. Onward and upward!!

Good job on your first crit! If you liked it on your first try and were able to hang YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE CRITS!

That was the way I reacted in my first crit too and they are my favorite form of racing (or were when I was still racing)!

I have never ridden a crit, though have watched a few

I am always impressed by the grit and determination evident in the racers
