Well I had my second tri last weekend.. it was great! except for the fact I had some horrible cramps on the run.. I must say that during this one week is the only time i HATE being a girl!!! and of course It had to land on the race.. what a suprise! jk
I dropped 11 minutes from my last tri in june! obviously the different course would be the result of that but alot of it showed in my performance too which was way nice!
times:
Swim: 18:36 I was hoping for 17 min but I wasn't too disappointed
t1: 3:35 (which this time I wore a wet suit and hadn't practiced taking it off so i was quite proud of that time!)
Bike:48:58- and this time I acutally passed people! I was very excited about that!
t2:1:42 that one was much slower that last time but still not too disappointing.
Run:35:10 -i about 5 minutes off of my run which I was way excited about! and there was a huge hill I had to walk up so I was proud of this time (i'm a VERY slow runner) During the run is when my cramps hit so I think In my head I just kept thinking the faster I run the sooner I'll be done and can just sit down.. haha well it worked I guess...
total: 1:48:04
206/450 overall
68/130 gender
11/25 division

So over all I think i did pretty well. and I felt pretty good afterwards. I must say the second one was lot more fun because I wasn't such a nervous reck!!
Sorry I haven't been very active on here lately... been super busy with school work and training.. but I have been keeping up reading what you all write.. I'm just not so good at posting anymore...

Krys, congrats on a really great second race!!! So happy for you that you dropped time off your run and that you passed people on the bike (that's always such a great feeling).
Way to go!!! :D

Hey, great report! Thanks for writing it all out...for someone who has never done a Tri, I enjoyed seeing your transition times, too. I am a big chicken, and I know deep down in a place I don't admit yet, that one day I am going to try a Tri. So, I read these reports and it feeds the scary little thoughts I have!

Could you tell me what distances the swim, bike & run were?

Thanks for the report! Post more! :)

That is great news about dropping time and passing people! It's good to know that you felt less stress with your second tri, I'm hoping the same is true for me and my second tri.

I don't think your run time is too bad, I'm a slow runner too though so I can comiserate. Plus, those cramps couldn't have helped at all.

Thanks Ladies!!!

Starfish: The swim was 750 meters, bike 13.1miles, and run 5k.

And thanks you all made me feel alot better about my run! I work with all guys and we all train for the triathlons, I beat there time in both the swim and the bike but they all teased me because I was so slow in the run (all light hearted of course) But sometimes I forget that I am not racing against them any ways. haha and it probably doesn't help the fact that they are all at least a foot taller than me at least some more, and so their strides are about twice of mine.. so over all I did just fine! :) thanks again ladies!
