I usually carpool with my partner and then take the train from his office to mine. A few months ago, I bought one of the Jamis Commuter bikes for running errands and tooling around. I've used it a lot on the weekends and after work, to run up to the library, or to the store, but I hadn't commuted to work on it.
So yesterday he told me that he was going to be working from home today. No rain in the forecast and I was committed to riding to work today, so last night I got my stuff all ready to go for the morning commute. I left a little earlier than normal to avoid some of the traffic, and it was an awesome ride in. Even the scary intersection wasn't too bad at that hour, and the way home should be a lot easier in that spot, although it is mostly uphill for the last half of the commute. The Jamis a lot heavier than my Specialized Allez, so at least I should see some benefit from those hills if I keep riding the bike on that route.
I'll get 17+ miles in today! Sweet.
I think I'm going to make this a once or twice a week thing.
