Here's a cool retro fixie I saw in Philadelphia this past weekend:

One thing that fixies are definitely good for is trackstanding. A block before I found this bike all by its lonesome, I saw the dude riding it hold a trackstand at a traffic light for probably a full minute. Very impressive!

That is a really cool bike. I love the paint job.

If only DH hadn't placed a limit on the maximum number of bikes I'm allowed to own at any one time.....

No, the guy was covered with tattoos and I wasn't sure how long I had before he came back :o

He actually turned out to be really nice, though, when I saw him on the street again a few blocks later and complimented him on the bike ;)

Maybe that's why I can't get a date:p

I love the curves in that frame design.

Y'know, you're right. Considering I have a few of my own, that was a silly inference on my part. Let's just say he looked a little rough and leave it at that ;)

Well, there are tattoos and then there are...prison tattoos:p

How could someone who rides a bike like that be a bad person?:)

I was examining that frame a bit more and i noticed some details. I love that frame!

Oh, why must you tempt me to come up with smarta$$ remarks???

Still....I am having a hard time imagining that bike having a "tough" rider.

Those remarks are why I love ya, Regina ;)

Philly's an interesting hodge-podge. I saw a lot of unexpected mixes of things, one of which was a dedicated bus/bike lane during rush hour. Now if that's not a safe combo, I don't know what is!  Tons of bikes everywhere, though, of all shapes, sorts and sizes. I ended up not taking my bike with me this past weekend, after all, and I really regretted it. Between sightseeing by bike and cruising the Schuylkill Trail, there seem to be really great cycling opportunities.
