Bad News: Someone just outbid me on Ebay for a pair of Pearl Izumi Ultrasensor Short Cut Shorts. Was it one of you? $34...what a deal...
Good News: I went on my first group ride with a WOMEN'S Group this morning!!! I had a blast. Now don't get me wrong. I don't mind drafting behind the guys, :D but sometimes it is nice to not be surrounded by so much testosterone. It was a nice challenge. I'm surrounded by flat roads on the side of town that I live. This group is based about 30 miles away from me and they are NOT surrounded by flat roads (well, at least by central AZ standards). I was pre-warned about the 9-mile hill. I wasn't too worried about that because I was told it was a long steady climb, nothing too steep. Well, they should've warned me about the 3 other STEEP hills before we would get to the 9-mile hill. You know the kind. The hills that look like vertical walls as you approach them on a bike. I managed to survive and actually enjoy the 50 mile ride, surrounded by new friends on a surprisingly "cool" July day in AZ. I can't wait until I get to ride with the group again. I'm just hoping with a little more training, the hills won't look quite so steep. :o
