View Full Version : Fresno, CA riders
Do any of you live in Fresno, CA? If you do, would you be willing to describe the riding for me. I fly there next week for a job interview and would like to check out the riding as well as the area. If you can provide que sheets for me to check some routes, I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance!

I actually grew up just south of Fresno, but now live in Missouri. For the most part the valley is flat. If you wanted some hills the foothills (east side of the valley next to the Sierras) outside of Fresno would probably be nice. I didn't ride when I lived there so I don't know of any rides. However here is a site for the local Fresno club and their phone number. They would probably give you the information you need.
Good luck with the job interview! I'm jealous because I want to move back home.

Thanks firesurfr! It looks like they have an active cycling community. I've been in the mountains twice near Fresno and that would provide better climbing than Pittsburgh.
I doubt I get the job because technically I lack what they need. But they wanted me out for an interview so I'm going to give it my best shot. I can still learn........

good luck! knock 'em out. What's the job if we can ask?
Thanks Trek420. I found the site for Steven's Bicycle Shop, the only one in Fresno I quickly found a website for. Looks like they do a good business. Plan to talk to them, also.
Interviewing for another engineering position in one of our flat glass plants. The hardwear they use I've seen but never worked on. Plus they want an engineer familiar with motors and that's not been me ever. I can fumble my way through troubleshooting them but I'm more a measurement and controls engineer.
My sister and her family live in Carlsbad, CA, which would put me about 5 hours from them. I'd love that.

...and not too far from us Bay Area T.E. 'ers. Good luck. There's lots of good riding here. :p :D
