I have been giving some thought to juicing for nutrition. More vegetable than fruit juice since fruit has so much sugar. Anyone else do this and feel energized and what is a good recipe or book?

Yes! We have a Vitamix (http://www.vitamix.com/), which actually grinds even the skin and pulp down so that you get all the fiber rather than straining it out and getting only the juice. They are expensive, but ours is nearly 10 years old now, and we've used it 100s of times, so it has been worth every penny! DH makes a carrot/apple/celery/flax drink most nights (thinned with a little OJ). It's tasty and so good for you! You can also use the Vitamix for yogurt smoothies, hot soups, milkshakes, almond butter, etc.

We actually had a "regular" juicer before the Vitamix but couldn't stand throwing out all that pulp, and it was a pain to clean the strainer part. The Vitamix is much easier to clean as it is basically just a turbo-powered blender (yes, it also makes delightful margaritas! :D :D :D )

I use Jack LaLannes juicer every morning but the vitamix sounds better. I have to throw out the pulp and it is a pain to clean.

I also use Jack Lalannes. I wouldn't mind trying the vitamix.......however, my budget says no. (to many biking accessories to purchase yet). Carrots with an apple is my favorite. Looks terrible, tastes great!!!!!
