Hey guys! I've been lurking the past two days.... Trying to learn about saddles. Any how, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Christina... bought my first road bike last year and rode it in the MS 150.
I bought a recumbent beforehand because I was having some balance issues (I have MS...) but then those cleared up and I jumped on a road bike and never looked back. The recumbent now sits in my garage - for sale.
We live in Madison County, IL and have a great trail system here that dh and I frequently ride. He also loves to mountain bike -- I haven't really tried that yet. Don't know if I will! :)

WOW! Hello everyone. I've been trying to decide if this was the place for me because a lot of people here are hardcore!! I like to bike and jog -- the biking for fun.. Jogging I hate, but I do it to stay in shape.
Sundial - I just have to say - I love your avatar! I also have a shepherd. She's 4 going on 6 months. She doesn't sit still long enough for me to get a pic of her!!! Her name is Sasha.
KnottedYet- I recognize your user name from my saddle search. I have pretty much decided on a Brooks 68. It's in my price range and from what I've read -- ALMOST all folks like them.
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!:)

Yay! Another member for the Brooks Cult! :D
Lots of hard core riders on TE, but also lots of just plain bike nuts. Lots of newbies. Lots of returning-to-biking-after-years-away folks.
TE is very cool. (and TeamEstrogen.com is a great place to shop!)

Hi, Chort!
I have to say I am completely inspired that you ride with MS. That rocks.
I am a fellow newbie... also not hardcore (yet.) ;)
Tonight I go to the bike shop to saddle shop. I will let you know what I find...

Oh please post a pic of her when you get a chance. I have 3 gsds now, one of which is a foster. I also have a teddy bear aussie that is toooo funny.
I hope you are having luck with narrowing your search for a saddle. I've tried a couple and went with a Specialized. They offer some of their saddles in 3 widths. If you are not sure what size you are, a Specialized dealer can measure you by you sitting on a butt meter. :) There are saddles that are 130mm, 143mm, and 155mm.

Welcome. I am relatively new to the site, but not cycling. This is a great place for all types of riders.
