This morning I went out to try all three events and transitions.

I set up my stuff in a grassy area of the parking lot with DP watching over it and then went inside to the pool.

Swim
300m: 5:51 (1m 57s /100 meters)
First time swimming in my tri suit. It felt weird to have the waist of the top swishing over my belly and hips. I'm glad that I'll now be ready for it during the real thing. At several points I felt like I was pushing too hard. No wonder, I was setting a PB.

T1: 5:20, but more than 2:30 was taken up getting from inside the pool back to my stuff in the parking lot. Once there: 2:50

Bike
10.35 miles: 39:30 (15.72 miles/hr)
I was in data deprivation because my cyclocomputer wasn't working. I never knew my speed or cadence. Overall, my legs felt tired and I felt like I needed to use smaller gears than I should have been able to push. I was surprised how hard this was, but I've been slacking off on the riding to get my swimming and running ready to go.

T2: 1:59

Run
1.65 miles: 13:59 (8m 28s pace)
Oh, this felt hard, but I was running a hellova good pace. I deliberately kept the run short, just wanting to get the feel for the transition and the "rubber legs", but now I wish I'd pushed it further to see how it would have felt.

Overall impression:
My first triathlon is a week from tomorrow. I think I can do this!

AWESOME!
Sounds like you're ready for your race next weekend!!! So happy on your great legs (all three were super speedy!!!). I can't wait to hear all about your race next weekend (although I'll be on vacation- so I'll have to read about it when I get back).

Good luck next weekend!!!! :D (I'd send you speedy vibes- but I don't think you need them- you've already got them!)

You can do it! Honestly, for some odd reason... I thought you were already an old pro at tri's.

After next weekend, you will be! :D
